I'm Luke Pauldine.
I help business owners and their teams build modern companies.
When I graduated from Clemson, my first serious job was at a marketing agency.
In those conversations with owners and their teams about how they should market their business, you get a unique look at what's going on.
You're talking about marketing, sales, how they make money, all their revenue streams, operations, etc.
And so in those conversations you're always lifting up the hood of the business and seeing whats actually making this thing run.
This gave me a really good understanding of how businesses actually operate.
Across several industries and departments.
And to take it a step further, the processes they have in their business that really slow them down.
Simultaneously, this is when AI was first starting out, and I was hooked.
I wanted to use every tool and know everything.
Sadly that is not realistic and I too as an "AI expert/guru" have felt behind in this space.
There way too much signal and noise coming through for anyone to stay on top of everything.
But I applied myself, I used it everyday, I learned from my peers, and I applied my business knowledge to a landscape that's constantly changing.
I have trained thousands of owners and teams on how to use this technology. One thing I always do is ask what it is that they are wanting to use AI employees for.
So it has given me a long and diverse understanding of how people are using this technology.
I realized the impact this technology is having on businesses and teams and wanted to be apart of it.
The old school way of running a business was using pen and paper for everything.
And when the internet and the computer came out, it revolutionized how we get work done.
I believe AI is having the same impact.
And so I want to help the next generation of businesses adopt to this modern day company era.
Some things need to stay human.
AI should NOT handle every step. The best workflows keep the human in the loop.
One of my biggest frustrations is people who think AI can do anything and everything for them. It can't. Maybe you'll say "not yet." The worst AI will ever be is today, and it's only going to improve. That still doesn't mean it should do everything.
Imagine you're sending a proposal. You meet with the customer, log into your proposal software, create a tailored strategy, present it, and send it. Every task in your business has a step-by-step process like this. AI should handle some of those steps, not all of them.
Let's say it's a five-step process. You kick things off on step one. AI handles steps two and three. You come back in for step four. Then AI finishes step five. The human stays in the loop.
We manage the AI employees. They aren't off doing whatever they want, whenever they want. There has to be human oversight.
I see owners and managers telling their team to "just use AI." Let me tell you why that's wrong
I see owners and founders telling their team all time "well, just use AI", "We're using AI". That's never going to help you scale your business. Most people are using AI the same way they have been since ChatGPT came out. Just using it as a chatbot, ask it a question and you get an answer. That's using <1% of AI.
You need to start building, training and managing these AI employees around the things that you do everyday. You hire them, you train them, and then you manage them. Same as any ordinary (human) employee. So if you're still prompting AI like you're Googleing something, you're just scratching the surface.
The impact I'd like to have
Our civilization is heavily reliant on technology. It is what we use constantly everyday. Often, I think it's too much. We are too reliant, we spend too much time on social media doom scrolling. This sadly has impacted me, my family and a lot of people. And so what I hope the impact is that I'm able to have is that let's use this technology the right way. Let's have it eliminate things from our to-do list, and increase our productivity SO that we can spend less time touching our phones and our computers. Let's spend our time with our friends and family, get out of the house, go touch a some grass. AI is going to be a big part of our culture, but let's not use it for everything and let it save us time so that we can actually go do the things that we want to do.
