If AI sounds like a robot when it writes for you, it's usually because you never gave it access to your brain. It doesn't know how you talk, what you sell or who you sell to, so it falls back on the average of everything it's read.

Why does AI writing sound like AI slop?

When you ask a blank chat to write a newsletter, it writes what a newsletter usually looks like. Same openers, same tidy lists, lots of dashes. Nothing in the request tells it what makes yours different.

How do you stop AI slop?

Give it you. I built a voice skill that holds how I talk: my phrases, the words I never use, no em dashes and no emojis. My newsletter skill uses it, and the drafts come out about 90 to 95% ready. I still read them and change a word or two.

If you're the owner, this part is on you. The entire business lives in your brain, and if you hand AI to someone else to set up, it keeps sounding like slop because it never learns what you know.

Where do I start?

Paste three things you've written that sound like you into Claude and ask it to describe your voice. Save that as a voice skill and use it on everything that goes out in your name.
