AI is not going to run your business for you, and I don't think it should. Human oversight is required.
Where should the human step go?
Anywhere a mistake would cost you a customer, money or your reputation. In my setup:
- Email: AI drafts every reply in my voice, and every reply stays a draft. I read it and click send.
- Bookkeeping: AI codes what it's 90% sure about and flags the rest for a person.
- Content: the newsletter comes out 90 to 95% ready, and I still edit a word or two.
Doesn't reviewing everything defeat the point?
No. Reading a finished draft takes a minute. Writing it took 20. You keep the judgment calls and hand off the typing.
Can I remove the human later?
For some low-risk work, like a morning summary only you read, sure. For anything a customer sees, keep the review step.
